Teeth Whitening

Coral Gables Teeth WhiteningIn-office or home whitening treatments often result in temporary sensitivity to cold, hot, air, and sweets, lasting twenty-four to forty-eight hours from the last whitening session. This is normal and should not be a cause for alarm if the treatment was conducted responsibly and as directed by Dr. Dargham and her team. Mild tissue or gum irritation is also possible, resolving uneventfully within a few days.

Until normal sensation resumes you should refrain from consuming hot or cold substances. Take mild pain medications (upto three 200 mg tablets of Ibuprofen/Motrin, combined with one tablet of Tylenol, every six hours) and use anti- sensitivity tooth pastes (Pronamel, Sensodyne). Avoid consuming foods or liquids that stain teeth (coffee, tea, red wine, berries, soy sauce).

Fluoride gels are available by prescription for direct application on the teeth surfaces, or via the same whitening tray used to bleach the teeth. Fluoride minerals act to remineralize the treated enamel and reduce sensitivity.

Please contact Dr. Dargham and her team to schedule your initial consultation. For your convenience, Dr. Dargham welcomes patients in one of two locations (Coconut Grove Dental Clinic and Biscayne Blvd. Dental Clinic), both located in the heart of Miami Dade County.
